Hæ! I’m Ása. Welcome to my blog!
A small introduction
I’m Ása, a 27 year old engineer graduate from Iceland with a mind of an adventurer. I was born and raised in Norway but moved to Iceland at the age of seven. Since then I have used every chance to escape the little island in the Atlantic, working in Scandinavia, Asia and Turkey.
I’m just a little obsessed with photography, scuba diving, and reading guidebooks to countries I have no immediate plans to visit. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries and have knocked some big adventures off my bucketlist, like horseback riding through mongolia, living with locals in Iran and hiked through the highlands of Iceland.
How it all started
After working few years abroad, both in Norway and Turkey and knocking off few Eurotrips I had a dream about opening a travel blog. I didn’t do it until 2015 when I went on a 13 month trip around Asia.
I decided I wanted to write about my travels in order to document my thoughts and memories. I soon realised that combining writing, travelling and photography could easilly become my biggest passion.
Now, it’s all about Iceland
After returning home from my trip to Asia I experienced my home country, Iceland, with new eyes. All of a sudden I realised that I’m born in one of the most beautiful country I’ve ever visited. Now I use every opertunity to escape the regular city life.
Love what you do. Do what you love
These days I’m working on various projects. I’m a speaker at few international conferences, like Trablin, telling my story. Starting a female photographer collective. One of the sponsors is WOWair and it’s possible to get more information about the collective here.
