Midnight Sun Salsa – Iceland’s first ever Salsa Festival!

For all you dance lovers visiting Iceland this summer, don’t miss the opportunity to participate in the first ever salsa festival in Iceland, the Midnight Salsa Sun! Both of us have some experience in salsa dancing and we can both agree that nothing really beats the bliss of dancing your ass off to some afro-cuban rhythms!

Salsa festival under the midnight sun!

Our former salsa teacher and friend, Edda Blöndal, will be organizing the first ever salsa festival in Iceland this summer. The Midnight Sun Salsa will be offering courses in salsa/bachata/kizomba on all levels so everyone should find something they like on the menu. During the four-day program you will be learning new moves from the very best salsa instructors in Scandinavia. On the Saturday night you can even compete in the Nordic Salsa Championship, or just enjoy watching the show!

The venue will be hosted at Hilton Hotel in Reykjavik, conveniently located nearby the city center!

Combine Salsa dancing with sightseeing

Despite a great deal of dancing the schedule still leaves room for sightseeing for those who wish to experience some of the unique nature Iceland has to offer. For this we recommend to get your hands on the combi-passes which also offer an exclusive tour to the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle. These are two of the major highlights for most first time visitors.

The Golden Circle

In this easy day tour you’ll see one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfall, Gullfoss, and visit the famous Geysir Geothermal Park where you can see the magnificent geyser “Strokkur” blow high up in the air. The third highlight of the circle is Þingvellir National Park, where you can walk along the oldest parliament in the world. The park is also set in a rift valley where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are gliding apart!

The Blue Lagoon

If you are planning a trip to Iceland you’ve probably heard about the Blue Lagoon already. This is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland, and although a tiny bit expansive, the soft milky blue geothermal water won’t leave you disappointed!

See you there!

Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to emerge yourself in salsa during the midnight sun in Iceland. We’ll definitely be there, so see you on the dance floor!
